Very well stocked store everything easy and accessible good stocked waitroise food Hall great deli counter good choice of plants 🪴 gifts I mainly visited to go to the restaurant the food was good the staff are very nice but the service is far too slow I waited almost an hour for sandwiches and salad and chips I wasn't impressed I used my dobbies card and got my free coffee plenty of free parking but its really busy
Nice place, standard garden centre. Lots of Xmas stuff. Lovely guinea pigs in the pet centre.
Started of in the deli area , where the lady serving was extremely helpful and wrapped up some local 🧀 for us. We then went into the garden centre area and wanted to know more about some Christmas lights and another lady on the till was again extremely helpful. A delightful experience all round. Well done Dobbies. …
What a lovely garden centre and restaurant, nice and clean in the most part - staff very friendly and those in the restaurant were very attentive to our kids. They went and got them stuff to colour in, and gave them some balloons.
We had a morning breakfast which perhaps was a bit pricier than we thought it would be, but still nice. They have a kids option as well which was good.
Thought the loos could do with a bit of an improvement took my son in, it had a terrible smell... hence comment about nice and clean in the most part...!!
We go there for a treat of a Drink and look around unfortunately this time of year after Christmas the shelves are being changed and not much to look at , but with their vouchers we received we saved a lot on what we did buy , I also must say once shelves are all changed it’s lovely place to go there’s always something there that suits everyone pockets
Visiting family back in my home town of Boston. My parents, my wife daughter and I very much enjoyed the garden centre.
However wanting a snack/lunch style sandwich we were told there would be. 30 minute wait on food. 2 sandwiches, 2 toasties and a kids lunch box didn’t seem like they would be a huge ask and the place wasn’t busy but 30 minutes was not too long compared to going home so we agreed. Surprised at being asked to pay when our order was taken but think this is so we didn’t walk off with boredom. Over an hour later we asked where our food was. Two ladies next to us had been waiting 30 mins longer than us for two sandwiches. Meanwhile others came, sat down, ordered a full hot meal, ate and left!
When it did come one of the sandwiches wasn’t ours it was the ladies next to us. At which point we were asked “well what did you order then?”.
When it came my potato wasn’t warm enough to melt the cheese and the sandwiches didn’t look amazing.
We were offered more drinks on the house but we’d drank so much tea already while waiting it was pointless.
If the staff had given accurate wait times we wouldn’t have sat down.
All in all pretty poor as didn’t then leave us time to go around the garden centre.
The garden centre is great but the butchers (Hambleton Farm) was appalling. The food looks nice but tastes so bland. Bought an onion bhaji that was so tasteless and so DRY! Also bought sweet and sour chicken and beef with black bean sauce. …
A good 20 minute wait to be served with coffee in the smaller cafe, the lady serving was very pleasant but busy making coffee, picking cakes out of the display and loading unloading the dishwasher, all on her own.
Certainly never experienced that in the johnsons days.
